Our History

Pyramid Media Group was established in New York City in 1994 with the merger of Pyramid Graphics & Publishing (electronic, multimedia, and print publication) and Pyramid Productions (photo, film, and TV video production and programming). It launched its first internet site in 1997 and started AirGuide for the Frequent Flyer magazine, which was distributed at New York’s first and business-class airline lounges at JFK and Newark airports, as well as on LaGuardia’s shuttles to Boston and Washington.

Pyramid then diversified its portfolio by venturing into business content, establishing B2B digital databases, and distribution platforms. These platforms serve as valuable resources for aviation and travel information, delivering the latest news and engaging features. As part of its strategic growth, Pyramid also acquired Air Travel Media, further strengthening its content offerings and expanding its presence in various markets. This acquisition introduced destination, hotel, and cruise audiences to Pyramid’s comprehensive suite of services.

A decade ago, Pyramid embarked on its journey by offering digital travel information and crafting destination interactive city and airport content. It served prominent clients such as Southwest Airlines, the Star Alliance, Amadeus GDS platform, Opodo, OAG Worldwide, American Express Business Travel, and various online travel reservation platforms. In 2016, Pyramid marked a significant milestone with the launch of its inaugural inflight platform and content project for Lufthansa Systems and Eurowings.

The company was initially established as a digital media company serving both B2C and B2B markets. Over time, it strategically utilized its content and technology assets to evolve into a provider of licensed services, catering to a broader range of clients and industry sectors.
