The Singapore EDITION: A New Landmark of Luxury and Design in Southeast Asia

Singapore, a dynamic Southeast Asian metropolis, is set to enhance its already impressive hospitality landscape with the arrival of The Singapore EDITION. Announced at the World Travel Market in London, this new venture marks the EDITION Hotels brand’s debut in Southeast Asia.

The Singapore EDITION is a product of the collective genius of renowned architects and designers, including Safdie Architects led by Moshe Safdie and local studio DP Architects. This 204-room hotel, located off the west end of Singapore’s bustling upper Orchard Road, merges the metropolitan energy of the city with a resort-like ambiance.

Designed by Ian Schrager in collaboration with Cap Atelier, the hotel boasts a contemporary style that pays homage to Singapore’s multi-ethnic heritage. The interiors feature a striking blend of high contrasts in black and white, accented with emerald and Roman red, inspired by the legendary Cleopatra’s jewelry. The intricate design details extend to each room, highlighted by an upholstered headboard panel with inset mirrors and a dresser unit with a glass-front mini bar. Bathrooms feature European-imported Marmara Striato marble floors and white quartz vanity tops, complemented by dark wood furnishings.

One of the main attractions of the hotel is its commitment to blending indoor and outdoor spaces. This is evident in the lushly planted sunken garden and skypark, providing guests with serene natural escapes amidst the urban landscape. The Lobby Bar and other public areas further showcase this design philosophy, featuring plantation louvres and biophilic elements that create a tropical oasis in the heart of the city.

The Singapore EDITION also introduces FYSH at EDITION, a high-ceilinged, timber-lined restaurant led by acclaimed Australian chef Josh Niland. This sustainable seafood-focused steakhouse is Niland’s first venture outside Australia, adding a unique culinary dimension to the hotel.

The hotel’s transformation extends to its expansive garden courtyard, reminiscent of an ancient Chinese temple or Roman villa, offering a tranquil setting for events and relaxation. The rooftop terrace and swimming pool provide guests with an exclusive outdoor experience, complete with day beds and panoramic city views.

The Singapore EDITION’s design, location, and offerings make it a standout addition to the city’s hospitality scene. With its doors set to open for a preview on November 9, 2023, the hotel is offering an exclusive opening rate, setting the stage for a new era of luxury and style in Singapore.
