The Best Airline & Airport On-Time Performance: The Global Leaders

Qatar Airways (QR) is this March’s global airline leader with an OTP of 87.36%, a 4-point increase over February’s performance.

Pegasus Airlines (PC), a new name in the top-ranking list, has emerged as the runner-up in the global airline category with an OTP of 87.14%. Pegasus Airlines also showed the highest performance improvement among the top rankers in March, with an impressive 10-point improvement over last month’s OTP of 76.80%.

Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SAW), which serves as a hub for Pegasus Airlines, improved by nearly 9-points compared to previous month’s performance of 75.97%. The airport concluded the month with an OTP of 84.81%.

After finishing in seventh place last month, Avianca (AV) ascended to third place with an OTP of 87.05%. Despite a near four-point decline in performance this month, Aeromexico (AM) still held on to the fourth-place position with an OTP of 87.02%.

Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX), the primary hub for Aeromexico placed fourth in the global airports category this month with an OTP of 85.93%.

Similarly, the airport also saw a 2-point decrease over last month’s OTP of 88.36%. LATAM Airlines (LA) came in fifth place this month with an OTP of 85.99%.

Arturo Merino Benitez Airport (SCL), the region’s largest and busiest international airport, which serves carriers including LATAM Airlines, Avianca and Aeromexico, improved by more than 5 points from February and placed third in the global airport category with an OTP of 86.95%.

Low-Cost Airlines On-Time Performance

Safair (FA) maintained its dominance in the category with an OTP of 96.67%, a nearly 3-point increase over the previous month’s performance. Since August last 2023, the low-cost airline has been the unrivaled leader in the Low-Cost category.

Gol (G3) secured the second-place position with an OTP of 88.62%. With 13-point improvement in performance, Norwegian Air Shuttle (DY) came in third place with an OTP of 88.34% followed by Air Baltic (BT) with an OTP of 87.77%. Completing the list was Pegasus (PC) in fifth place with an OTP of 87.14%, a 10-point increase over last month’s OTP of 76.80%.
