Bombardier Aerospace has officially disclosed that NetJets Aviation, based in Columbus, Ohio, is the client behind a substantial order placed in December 2023. The order consists of twelve Challenger 3500 aircraft, with an option for an additional 232 units. This deal not only highlights the strong partnership between Bombardier and NetJets but also emphasizes the Challenger 3500’s dominance in the super midsize business jet market.

NetJets, a global leader in private aviation, currently operates 88 of the Challenger 350’s predecessor models. The new order represents a significant expansion and modernization of its fleet, reflecting NetJets’ ongoing commitment to providing top-tier service and expanding its market presence.

A spokesperson from NetJets mentioned to Forbes, “As we evaluate demand and overall growth within the market, we are confident the extension of our super-midsize fleet will continue to differentiate NetJets as the worldwide leader in private aviation.” However, further details of the transaction were not disclosed to ch-aviation by a third party.

The addition of the Challenger 3500s to NetJets’ already diverse fleet, which includes various other Bombardier models like the Global 5000s and 7500s, as well as a large number of Cessna Citations, underscores its status as the world’s largest fractional private jet operator. This strategic acquisition not only strengthens NetJets’ position in the industry but also reinforces the importance of the Challenger 3500 in meeting the sophisticated needs of today’s private jet travelers.
