Berniq Airways, based in Benghazi, Libya, has announced the signing of a purchase agreement with Airbus for six new A320-200Ns and A321-200Ns. The signing ceremony was held last week in Toulouse, the home of Airbus, although the specific allocation between the two aircraft models and the delivery dates were not disclosed.

Established in 2018 and commencing operations in 2021, Berniq Airways has quickly grown its operational scope. The airline is supported in part by the Libyan Bank of Commerce & Development (LBCD) along with another unidentified investor. Operating from its hub in Benghazi, Berniq Airways currently utilizes a fleet of six A320-200s to service a variety of domestic destinations, including Brak in the east and Tripoli Mitiga, Misurata, and Zintan in the west. Additionally, the airline offers daily and weekly international flights connecting Libya to Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Dubai.

This new order underscores Berniq Airways’ commitment to expanding its fleet and enhancing its service offerings both domestically and internationally, aligning with its growth strategy and ambition to connect Libya more closely with key regional and international destinations.
