Former Dutch Government Fokker 70 Aircraft Listed for Sale by Alliance Airlines

A Fokker 70 aircraft, previously used by the Dutch government and currently maintained by Australia’s Alliance Airlines, has been placed on the market. The VIP-configured jet, registered VH-KBX (msn 11547), is being marketed by Fokker Aircraft Services.

This 28.6-year-old aircraft has been stored at Rockhampton since August 2023 and hasn’t been operated on official flights since November 2022. Initially delivered to the Dutch government in 1996, the jet served until 2017 before being replaced by a Boeing 737-700(BBJ). Subsequently, it was acquired by an anonymous owner for EUR3.7 million (approximately USD3.9 million) and utilized within a private charter network. The Fokker 70 is presently owned by the KBX Pty Ltd trust.

Alliance Airlines has preserved the aircraft’s original executive layout, featuring 12 VIP seats at the front and 12 business-class seats in a 2-2 configuration at the rear. Fokker Aircraft Services highlights the meticulous maintenance and low utilization of this jet, presenting it as an excellent opportunity for potential buyers seeking a unique large-size corporate jet.

According to ch-aviation’s fleet module, Alliance Airlines still operates thirteen Fokker 70s, with four currently inactive, and twenty-four Fokker 100s. The carrier is also expanding its fleet of Embraer aircraft, now including thirty-four E190s. Despite this growth, Alliance Airlines’ Chairman Steve Padgett indicated in a recent shareholder call that the Fokker regional jets would continue to be part of the fleet for another six to nine years, ensuring ongoing support and operational integration for the Fokker models.
